March 2022

On March 6th I finished my second photo book about the life of the swallowtail butterflies. Since I took over 2'000 additional photos last summer of the various stages I wanted to re-do the book. The main reason for creating this new photo book, which contains 60 pages now, was because I was able to take photos of the full process of a caterpillar turning into a chrysalis last year and also how a butterfly emerges from the chrysalis. It takes only 20 to 40 seconds for a butterfly to get out of its chrysalis, so it was pure chance to be there at the right moment. Another reason for the new book was that I obtained more information about the life of the swallowtails last year. I wish I could have added all information, but it would have been too much for a photo book. The book is in German only!

March 2021

On the page "Personal" I finally added the hobby of breeding swallowtails, a hobby that's causing me not only a lot of work, but also great pleasure. This is the text which I inserted there:
Beginning in 2017, I started "breeding" swallowtail butterflies. That is, I began to protect the caterpillars and chrysalises from predators. Since I took over 2,000 pictures of the various stages in 2020, I created a 36-page photo book in January 2021, in which I documented the life cycle of the swallowtail (from egg-laying up to butterfly) in pictures and supported it with interesting information. If anyone is interested, I'm more than happy to show the book. In case someone wants to "breed" swallowtails himself, I will of course assist you with advice and support anytime.

2018 - 2020

On the next pages I'll show some pictures of the day trips that mom and I took in the years 2018 to 2020 to everyone who's interested. (List of places at the end of this page).

Since the time investment is too immense, I won't add any further photos of possible excursions. Thank you for your understanding. However, in private (see: "Contact") I'm always ready to show you photos and/or give you tips for possible trips.

The idea behind it was at no time to brag, but to give visitors of this website some ideas for trips they could take of their own or to encourage them to visit our beautiful country. As far as possible, we try to avoid places with mass tourism, because we don't like to "walk on heads". The type of tourism where whole hordes literally "pour out" of tour buses just to take a selfie, rush back into the bus and head as fast as possible to the next attraction is disgusting to us. Naturally, these tourists can claim: "I was there!", but can you really grasp (let alone enjoy) the gorgeous view from a mountain in just 15 minutes, if you also "have" to take selfies and buy souvenirs during such a short stay? Everybody may reach his own conclusions about it.
Postscript 2020: Since the beginning of the Corona, the subject of "mass tourism" has fortunately been eliminated (at least temporarily).

It's my hope that you'll like the pictures, even though many of them are far from being perfect! In photography, I prefer to focus more on details like: windows, doors, flowers, trees, animals, etc. However, it was my intention to give you an overall impression of what we saw on our trips.

By the way: ALL shown photos can be ordered as photo cards. The usual prices for photo cards apply (CHF. 3.-- regular / CHF. 4.-- cut out OR CHF. 3.50 / 4. -- if you want to add a text).

Any kind of feedback (whether positive or negative) is highly appreciated!
Feedback on spelling and/or grammar mistakes as well :)

Thank you very much in advance
